With Keira Knightley recently bringing one of Jane Austen's beloved heroines to the big screen in Pride and Prejudice, enthusiasm for Jane Austen is more ardent than ever. Austen scholar Deirdre Le Faye can be thanked for some of this fervor--her work has inspired many of the film adaptations of Austen's great love stories."A meticulously researched and clearly written expose of Austen's world by one of Britain's foremost experts." --Good Book Guide

It was not a very interesting book. The writing is bland and the choice of topics sounded a bit random. I hope I'll get my hands on a more researched and more thorough Austen-related book. Read full review

Review: Jane Austen: The World of Her Novels

User Review  - Rebecca Bugge - Goodreads

A charming not-so-little book on Jane Austen and the world where she lived and her novels are set. Nothing revolutionary, but then again, not trying to be that either - and still with room for news for someone who already knows quite a bit about Austen and her books. Well illustrated too.
