Bechdel strains her characters through understanding their own internalized logic of oppression even after their supposed awakenings. That is a good way to keep new readers interested without having to understand back plots. Each strip entertaining even if it turns slice of life if not punchy. Read full review

About the author (1992)

Alison Bechdel has been writing and illustrating "Dykes to Watch Out For" since 1982. Her books have won multiple awards, and she was most recently a finalist for the Ferro-Grumley Award and two Eisner awards. She lives in Vermont and is working on a graphic memoir about her queer father.
