This time the lovable Rottweiler, who last appeared in Carl Goes Shopping (1989), is babysitting on Christmas Eve. He and his small charge sally forth among the late shoppers in the snow; then Carl brings the sleepy baby home and has a poignant encounter with Santa himself. Though a bit clumsy in execution, the cozily imaginative, colorful paintings in this wordless fantasy are sure to appeal to fans of its predecessors.

Love, love, love this book. I have "read" this one to my kids every year. There is very little text (only the very first page), so it is fun to make up the story as you go. Sweet and beautifully illustrated.
