Having flown the ERA-3B (VAQ-33, 1979-1982) I noted that the authors stated that the aircraft was modified to perform electronic surveillance and communications jamming - this is incorrect. The ERA-3B (with a crew of four) performed electronic surveillance and countermeasures, not communications jamming, specifically simulating ComBloc EW tactics for fleet readiness training.
