Review: Quick Service
Editorial Review - Kirkus ReviewsEngland carries on, and Wodehouse too in another whirlwind tale with a plenty of playful pyrotechnics. This is about Joss, who loses his job (advertising hams), falls in love, valets a socially unacceptable, thefts a picture, gets his gal and re-wangles his job in typically involved Wodehousian fashion. A few misplaced identities, good tangential romanticking, and more porcine pother as Joss is in and out of J.B. Duff's Paramount ham business, sailing merrily about under false colors. Manufactured situations don't bother Wodehouse fans, and there is plenty of fun for their enjoyment. Ran in Saturday Evening Post.

User Review - John - GoodreadsA solid mid period Wodehouse though the plot seemed largely familiar from other books. Basically this could have been a Blandings novel - slotting in new characters doesn't necessarily make it different. However, the dialogue is crisp as new minted fiver! Read full review

User Review - GoodreadsI'm a huge fan of Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster short stories, but this is the first time I've read this novel of his. Absolutely hilarious with hoot out-loud sentences that you read again just to savor them again. I highly recommend this funny, classic read.
