“IMMACULATE DECEPTION”

A novel by

Stephen Leonard Lancashire

Can you remember the day your childhood ended?

Some people say their childhood seemed to last forever. Others aren’t so lucky. Frank Carroll and Ted Maloney’s childhood ended when they were just nine years old. During the summer of 1980, while playing in the ruins of an old Keep off the coast of Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland they become witnesses to an event that will change the course of their lives.

Twenty-four years later, Frank Carroll is a Detective Inspector with Merseyside Police and Ted is the Reverend Father at the Holy Church of Trinity in Liverpool.

Father Maloney hears a confession at his church from a young woman who claims that she is pregnant and yet swears that she is a virgin.

As DI Carroll and Father Maloney get closer to unraveling the mystery surrounding the woman’s confession, they unlock the doors releasing the ghosts of their own hidden past. To solve the mystery they must expose the hidden truth about what they saw the day their childhood ended.

There will come a day when the past catches up with you… For Frank and Ted that day has arrived.
