I just loved this book! At first, I was a little nervous about it - ventures into YA books are not always particularly rewarding, and overall are a bit risky to me (look at _Shiver_.... truly a terrible novel!). But, I have always loved mermaids, so I couldn't help myself from harboring some high hopes for this book! From my first copy of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid (which was so beautifully illustrated that ultimately it had to be kept together by masking tape...) to of course Disney's animated version, I just loved anything having to do with mermaids!
And truly, this book did not disappoint me at all! From the character's names (Brody and Quince... is it me or is this a thinly veiled _Jaws_ reference? "Quint" is awfully close to be a coincidence...) to the rather silly (yet charming) fish sayings, I just had a ton of fun reading it. I really adored it, and I am looking forward to reading the upcoming sequel, as well as some of the author's past work!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Childs is one of my favorite authors and I really think this book would be the first in a very succeding series

not just your average Mermaid story. I took a lot of jokes from ym friends for that, but it was worth it by the time i got to the end, I just re-read it and I was still unable to set it down as it took me over all over again

I really enjoyed this book. I don't know what made it so interesting, maybe the fishy language or just wanting to know what comes next, but I read it in one sitting because I felt this book was funny ... Read full review

I picked this up cause I had a good impression of Tera Lynn Childs' Oh. My. Gods series. And as much as I love and read about supernatural novels, there hasn't been one that centers on mermaids. This ... Read full review
