About the author (2006)

I was born Aug. 23, 1914 at Wilbur, Indiana, Greg Twp., Morgan County, to W.W. Fowler and Opal B. Fowler.

The family moved to Indianapolis for a few years and then moved back to Jefferson Twp., Morgan County, In., to a home, four miles south of my birth place, to the Mt. Olive community where I went to church and school there and in Martinsville.  The family lived there for many years.

After graduation in 1932 from M.H.S., I entered a pilot training program with Indianapolis Aircraft Owners Club; but, discontinued at the request of Mildred Fowler, my fiancée, whom I married on Dec. 6, 1936, and is my faithful wife to this day.

I worked for forty years in automobile dealerships, five first as a mechanic, and then thirty-five as a Chevrolet parts manager until 1980 when I retired.

I think I have a natural talent to write poetry and so, after retirement, have so engaged myself.
