I wonder how much of this text needs a revisiting just on the basis of the results of some of the more recent studies on genetics in men and women... nonetheless, this book was eye-opening and balancing.

4.5 stars. I skipped the chapter on Playboy (didn't want to read it), but the rest was excellent. I say "excellent" because it was well-written and well-researched. Also, Ehrenreich's analysis of ...

I was required to read this, but it was quick, easy, and even entertaining at times. While I didn't love it or deem it "Very Good" because I would never have picked it up on my own, I love Barbara Ehrenreich's writing style. She's one of my favorite scholarly authors. Read full review

Ehrenreich's book explores various versions of what has loosely come to be called the "men's liberation movement" and the public discourse on men's role as breadwinners and supporters in the Western ... Read full review

Review: The Hearts of Men: American Dreams and the Flight from Commitment

User Review  - Julie Suzanne - Goodreads

What The Feminine Mystique was for women, this book is for men. The back cover critics explain my sentiments so well, I'll present them here: [The book] not only explodes some pervasive beliefs, it ... Read full review
