Great Expectations

Pretty good, I must say.

I love this book, which is about how a boy which could easily continue the work of his family, Cobbling, become such a great man facing so many problems. Please TRY !

I had not read Dickens since high school (which I graduated from in 1961), even though I read massive amounts. Being in just the right mood for it, I decided I needed to fill this gap in my background, so dug into "Great Expectations". It was certainly one of the best novels I've ever read. That was three years ago, and I still think back on the experience of reading it frequently.

Well done for a monster classic. The monster theme seemed to work particularly well with Great Expectations, so that it meshed with the story instead of feeling tacked on, like some other monster classics I have read. Read full review
