The Serb uprising in Banat in 1594 was one of the three largest uprisings in Serbian history against the Ottoman Empire, and the largest before the establishment of the autonomous Serbian state in the so-called First Serbian Uprising (1804-1813), led by Kara or e Petrovi .In the Banat region, which then formed part of the Ottoman Eyalet of Teme var, in the area around Vr ac, a large uprising began against the Ottoman Empire. The leader of this uprising was Teodor Nestorovi, the Bishop of Vr ac. Other leaders were Sava Ban and voivode Velja Mironi .
