This book is so easy to follow! It has a ton of information but isn't overwhelming at all. I'm so glad I bought this!! I've followed Emma on Instagram for a few months and I was floored when she announced she was releasing a book. I scooped it up right away and I love it. There are practice sheets inside and additional resources on her website if you purchase the book. Incredibly helpful from start to finish. If you want to learn brush lettering, this is the book!!

About the author (2018)

Emma Witte, also known as Black Chalk Collective (@blackchalkco), is a full-time artist from Australia. Emma loved art as a kid, but didn't dabble in it again until late 2015 when she was looking for a creative outlet from the combined pressures of the corporate world and university.
Emma's art obsession started with brush lettering after spontaneously attending a workshop. She would go on to teach her own workshops online and around the world, run a calligraphy-focused print and digital magazine for two and a half years, and have her first book published: Brush Lettering from A to Z.
Along the way, Emma began experimenting with watercolor and quickly fell in love with the challenge and excitement of its unpredictable and uncontrollable nature. In 2018, she released a color theory class online, which has since seen thousands of students take part and learn how to turn three colors into 144. This quickly expanded into an online school today known as The Watercolour Academy. Later that year, Emma also started making her own paint so she could better help her students, and now she offers a range of handmade colors through The Watercolour Factory.
Emma is a firm believer that anyone and everyone can create beautiful art with just a little time, patience, and perseverance. She is also passionate about helping other creatives turn their hobbies into something more and co-hosts the Hobby to Business podcast with Shelly Kim.
Emma resides in Melbourne with her two furry children, Rhodie the dog and Leo the cat, and to no real surprise: her favorite things to paint are animals!
