This book is not an 'encyclopaedia' of corporate investigation. It is intended as an introduction to commonly used methods and core principles of investigative technique. We place corporate investigations in the wider context of competitive intelligence. We outline the conventional investigative process, before turning to detail each of its phases in more detail, looking at the process in each phase, before talking about the practice. We conclude by reminding readers of the crucial position of corporate investigations in the development of corporate intelligence, and further synopsising the investigation process.
