€œThese papers relating to the Bolton Whitman Fellowship was deposited at John Rylands Library, Manchester, by Charles F. Sixsmith, who refused for it to be united with the main collection in Bolton, following a disagreement with the librarian there in the early 1950s over the ownership of certain relics, not least the stuffed subject of Whitman’s poem, “My canary bird†. Comprising letters, essays and other materials that were printed for the group as well as for journals and the press, these papers are very much integral, rather than supplementary, to the larger collection now held at the Bolton Archive and Local Studies Service, also published by Microform Academic Publishers (ref. R50030). Introduction by Dr. Carolyn Masel, University of Manchester, incorporating the catalogue produced by Frances Baker, archivist at the John Rylands Library (ISBN 1851170324).†-- PUBLISHER.
