11 ADMIXTURES An admixture is a material other than water , aggregates ,
cement , and fiber , added to plastic concrete or mortar to change one or more
properties at the fresh or hardened stages . Admixtures are introduced before ,
various types of chemical admixtures by their intended uses , as listed in Table 3 .
