A soldier wrote from the trenches: "We sit in our dug-outs and 'just think'. I wonder if you could send some books and magazines over here.

American soldiers in cantonments, barracks, on the sea, and in the trenches, will have no such cause for complaint IF we who stay behind do our part.

A good book will dispel many an hour of homesickness or loneliness. A dollar will buy and distribute one book. Ten dollars will do more good than you may imagine.
