Gully Foyle, Mechanic's Mate 3rd Class, is the only survivor on his drifting, wrecked spaceship. When another space vessel, the Vorga, ignores his distress flares and sails by, Foyle becomes a man obsessed with revenge. Get used to the language and keep reading. Lovely book that is the reason I read science fiction. Take it home and lose yourself in this new world. Read it and love it. Everything by Bester is fantastic.
