About the author (2013)

Pat Welsh is a garden lecturer and writer. She was the first garden editor for San Diego Home/Garden and later spent five years as the Emmy Award- winning "Residential Gardener" on the San Diego NBC station. Her work has won several Quill and Trowel Awards from the Garden Writers of America. She lives in San Diego, California.
