The most common type of centrally controlled network is a client /server network.
What are peer-to-peer networks? In peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, each node
connected to the network can communicate directly with every other node on the
ordering food, you are the client making a request. The cook, in the role of the
server, responds to the request and prepares the meal. Certainly, you could go to
the restau rant and cook your own meal, but this would hardly be efficient.
