Planning ahead for a gluten- and lactose-intolerant house guest. This book was even more useful than I hoped, suggesting dairy substitutes in many recipes. I have a feeling Tofutti is not as good as cream cheese, but it's nice to have options. Read full review

CAROL FENSTER, PhD, is an inter-nationally recognized expert on gluten-free cooking who speaks frequently at national conferences and trade shows. Her recipes have appeared in Vegetarian Times, Better Nutrition, Gluten-Free Living, Living Without, and other publications, and she is the author of seven previous cookbooks, including Gluten-Free 101; 100 Best Gluten-Free Recipes and Gluten-Free Quick & Easy.
