The Time Machine "A young scientist travels 800,000 years into the future only to become very disillusioned with what he sees. Humans have evolved into two distinct humanoid species: the brutal Morlocks and the gentle Eloi. The scientist notes that the Eloi had relinquished the qualities of power and intelligence, thus making them vulnerable to the hungry Morlocks. Wells' cautionary tale warns us about the danger of a polarized society with an ever-increasing gap between rich and poor.
