Soldiers are our Credentials.

America's Army is a total force, consisting of one team, committed to one fight, and building toward

one future.

One Team. The Total Army is one team, composed of the active Army, Army National Guard, U.S. Army Reserve, and civilian employees. Quality people are at the heart of everything the Army does, working together with shared core values and a common heritage. Our Army is the world's best Army, trained and ready to respond to the Nation's needs in peace and in war.

One Fight. The Total Army is America's first full spectrum force, able to operate across the entire continuum of military operations from assisting local authorities to fighting and winning a major theater war. Soldiers are our Nation's vanguard in shaping the international environment, responding to crises abroad and at home, and preparing for an uncertain future. As an integral part of the Joint Team, the Total Army is America's force of decision in carrying out the National Military Strategy.

One Future. As the Nation and the Army enter a new century-and an uncertain future-we stand at a strategic crossroads, with a historic opportunity to "leap ahead" and become a 21" century Army of unprecedented capability. By taking advantage of rapidly emerging information technologies, the Army can achieve a true Revolution in Military Affairs and gain the information dominance, situational awareness, and physical agility necessary to win on 21" century battlefields.

The greatest challenge facing the Total Army is balancing today's readiness and tomorrow's modernization requirements with the resources provided. The Army has worked hard to become a most efficient organization, reinvesting savings attained through efficiencies to maintain the delicate readiness and modernization balance. But that alone is not enough. For the Army to sustain its full spectrum capabilities and ensure our Nation remains versatile, flexible and credible in response to crises around the world, the Army must receive adequate and predictable funding. Our soldiers-America's sons and daughters deserve nothing less. They are, after all, our credentials.
