Not exactly an 'easy read' but very, very interesting and enlightening on the history of the medical profession's early days in the U.S. as it relates to women's health care.
If one wants to know how the medical profession shifted from home-grown healers to pedestal-perched exalted doctors, to the level above all other common-folk, this sheds at least a little light on the subject.
