Capitulum. Length from tips of the cornua to the tips of the palpi, 1.11; width of basis, 0.6. Basis with the posterior margin straight, salient. Cornua distinct, about as broad as long, a little elevated over the level of the posterior margin. Porose areas large, subcircular, well separated, and tangent to the lateral ridges which converge forward from the cornua to opposite the insertions of the palpi. Combined length of articles 2 and 3, 0.81. Hairs on palpi few and short excepting for two or three long ones on the inner side of article 2.

Ventrally basis is constricted at the middle, back of the auriculae; posterior margin broadly rounded, salient. Auriculae as large pointed horns, directed posteriorly and marking the greatest width of the basis. Transverse sutural line distinct. Palpal article 1 distinctly visible as an oval plate. Palpi flattened on their inner faces.

Hypostome. Long, narrow, and with sides nearly straight and converging anteriorly. Denticles long and pointed, arranged 3/3 with the fourth files incomplete. The hypostome available for mounting and drawing lacked the tip, in other specimens it is pointed. Length about 0.6.

Scutum. Length 1.8; width, 1.45. Longer than wide, widest in front of the middle, broadly rounded behind. Scapulae pointed. Lateral carinae distinct, nearly straight anteriorly and curved posteriorly where they merge into the lateral edges of the scutum. Cervical grooves are broad, divergent valleys. Punctations distinct and numerous; those in the median posterior areas more numerous, large, circular, and deep; those in the median anterior and antero-lateral areas smaller, less definite, and intermingled with rugae. Hairs few and very small. Surface in general bright and shining.

Legs. Long and slender; a moderate subapical hump present on tarsus I, less distinct on succeeding legs. Length of tarsus I, 0.84; metatarsus, 0.61. Length of tarsus IV, 0.84; metatarsus, 0.74.

Coxae. Mildly convex; the posterior edges of II and III salient; punctate, with a few hairs on their posterior sides. A moderate internal spur present on I; external spurs distinct on II and III, small on IV.

Spiracular plate. Large, oval, with the longer axis transverse. Surface nearly level and a little elevated over the surface of the body. Goblets moderate in number with only two rows between the macula and the anterior edge. Size 0.42 by 0.36.

At the level of the intervals between coxae III

Genital aperture. and IV.

Male and nymph unknown.

FEMALE

Body. One unengorged, or little engorged, specimen available is oval, with scutum reaching about one-half the length of the body. Length, 3.6; width, 2.02. Marginal body folds very wide and reaching anteriorly to between legs I and II. Body posterior to scutum with numerous short hairs each in a pit.

Capitulum. Basis large and broad with the rounded lateral extensions continuous with the posterior extension; posterior margin nearly straight. Cornua absent. Dorsal surface smooth, shining, and heavily sclerotized. Two high ridges starting at the two posterior corners converge anteriorly and terminate near the insertion of the chelicerae. Porose areas large, nearly circular, depressed and separated by a ridge. Palpi nearly straight on the lateral profile lines, curved on their inner edges; widest at the anterior part of article 2. Article 2 longer than 3; combined length of 2 and 3, 0.66.

In the ventral view, basis is broadly flared at the sides at the usual position of auriculae; lateral flares continuous with the lateral and posterior salient edges. Posterior margin narrow and straight. Surface with a few large punctations. Palpi flattened on their inner faces. Palpal article 1 with a small oval plate.

Hypostome. About as long as the remainder of the basis capituli; sides nearly parallel; denticles arranged 2/2; those of the lateral files larger. Length about 0.51.

Scutum. Length, 1.8; width, 1.38. Oval, widest at about the middle. Scapulae absent. Lateral carinae variable; if present they are moderate ridges which reach neither the anterior end nor the postero-lateral margins. Surface smooth, shining. A few large, deep punctations present in the median area and others of smaller sizes occur over the surface. Hairs absent.

Legs. Subapical humps absent. Length of tarsus I, 0.96; metatarsus, 0.75. Length of tarsus IV, 0.84; metatarsus, 0.69.

Coxae. Well sclerotized, flat, smooth, shining, faintly crazed, punctate, and with a few long hairs. Coxa I extended forward under the sides of the basis capituli and plainly visible in dorsal view as heavily sclerotized triangular plates. All coxae salient on their posterior edges. Coxa I with a long, sharp, curved external spur and a shorter triangular internal one. External spurs on II, III, and IV large, short, and rounded apically.

Spiracular plate. Large, oval, surface flat, a little elevated, with the macula eccentric on the antero-ventral side. Goblets moderate in size and number. Length, 0.57; width, 0.48.

Genital aperture. At the interval between coxae III and IV.

MALE

Body. Very large, elongated, and heavy sclerotized. Length, including capitulum, 10.25; width, 4.25. Lateral body folds wide, smooth, and with short, heavy spines each in a pit.

Capitulum. Length, 0.78; width of basis, 0.51. Basis with dorsum flared at the sides and posteriorly with edges salient; surface smooth, shining, punctate, and with prominent ridges which converge anteriorly. Palpi short and broad, widest at outer portions of article 2. Hairs few and short.

In ventral view the basis is broad and long, longer than the hypostome. Sides extended laterally and rounded, continuous with the narrower posterior portion. Posterior edge nearly straight, salient. Surface smooth, shining, impunctate. Palpi with their inner faces flattened.

Hypostome. Much as in the female but smaller. Length about

0.39. Denticles arranged 2/2; laterals large and pointed, medians small and rounded.

Scutum. Long and narrow, convex, smooth, shining, with a few large, deep punctations mainly in the posterior areas and with small and intermediate punctation. Scapulae as low rounded corners. Sides near the middle with deep longitudinal excavations resulting in a double edge, the inner edge overhanging. Lateral carinae very mild, broad, nearly parallel. Cervical grooves shallow, visible in reflected light, terminating near the ends of the lateral carinae.
