The Colonizer and the Colonized

This study of colonial oppression was written before the Franco-Algerian war and predicted the outcome and aftermath of that war. It reveals the springs and mechanisms common to all forms of oppression of one group by another and speaks to all who have experience of the Third World whether they live in the Third World or the First, for in revealing the mechanisms at the base of oppression, Memmi has also revealed the springs of all oppression of one group by another.
