These

NOTE: re lot 1650; not to be published, for private information only.
ticks were received through the courtesy of Professor Meuleman (Brussels),
who procured them for me from a Director of a large cattle raising company,
who begged him (Meuleman) not to divulge the place whence the ticks came as
the Government might get interested in cattle diseases there and worry the
company. I can get a good supply from the co. in September when the rains
set in again. All the ticks came from the Island of Mateba, near Boma,
Belgian Congo. I am also not to mention that Meulman sent these ticks, as
it would be known at once whence they came.

Ticks from the collection of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine,
received from Prof. R. Newstead, April 24, 1912. Determined by Prof.
L. G. Neumann (Toulouse), 22 May 1912.
