The fifth annual issue of the Public LEDGER ALMANAC is herewith presented to the subscribers to the Ledger as a household companion for the year 1874. It is furnished them free of cost; and in order that every subscriber shall receive a copy, an edition of one hundred thousand of the Almanac has been printed. It is not published for sale, and none are to be sold. The Table of Contents, printed on the third page of the cover, will show that this issue of the Almanac is, like its predecessors, a handy book of useful information for every-day reference. Those who have preserved all the numbers of the series from 1870 to this time will find them, when bound together in one volume, a most useful compend of current information, most of which it would be impossible to procure in as convenient form anywhere else.
