About this ebook

In the gripping opener of the Parched series, Clarity Parker, a New York ad exec, is drawn into a whirlwind romance with the enigmatic Baron Fordā€”a man she once thought lost forever.

Their unforgettable first date, enveloped in a thick fog, ended with Baron's mysterious disappearance. But five years on, the fog rolls back, and with it, Baron returns. Despite the magnetic pull between them, Clarity is bewildered. Why can't she sense his emotions or thoughts, given her unique abilities?

Baron drops a bombshell: he's a vampire. A notion Clarity finds absurd. Yet, as the mists shroud the city, she'll uncover startling truths about herself, her origins, and the undeniable connection to the manā€”no, the vampireā€”named Baron ā€œZe Feldis.ā€

Plunge into a tale where reality blurs, secrets unfold, and a love defies the boundaries of the supernatural.

I liked the fact that the author took time to build the characters and provide background information. I also like there weren't sex scenes on every other page. However, that's about it. The first book was hardly about romance. It was more like an one-night stand. Didn't build into how they reunited and ends as if love is lost. I would've been more interested in focusing more on Clarity and Baron's love. However, this book is all about her and I'm sure not about to read 7 books to figure out if they come back together. This book also has an enormous amount of spelling and grammatical errors that makes it hard to follow.

The characters are mesmerizing in their own person. The plot is well-thought and planned, however it has too much "story trivia" for 204 pages. It's liked they were crammed right there without much thought just to give the story sense. (Am I making sense? šŸ˜…) The book is good enough to get me curious as to what happens next though, so there's that. Cheers!
