Do not read unless you have read the first book, at the very least. In fact, you should probably read the second one too; there are a few points in passing which may count as spoilers for "Solatium". A sweet & sympathetic portrait of Callie, which humanises her reasons for being Dorf's answer to Ned Flanders: she's not a holier-than-thou poseur, she genuinely wants to *help*. Nor is she as inflexible as she might seem. Lovely.

An excellent addition for the readers already familiar with the NOLANDER series. Neurotic Callie is not one my favorite characters , however, this story is delightful and set in a realistic manner in Dorf WI during the timeframe of Beth's long absence.

Perfect, just what I needed to calm my nerves and wait for the next emanation book... It's a great short story without complicating the big plots while providing some small character progression on some side characters.
