About This Item

Ohara Publication, 1980. First Edition. Paperback. Very Good+/in illustrated wraps. Softcover, Magazine Format First Edition 1980 Ohara Publication (407) 95 paginated pages plus 3 additional pages. Very Good+, in illustrated wraps. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear and a touch of edge-toning to covers. Spine has a touch of foxing. Rear cover has a couple of faint creases. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Binding tight and spine is uncreased. This the TRUE First Edition from 1980 with the spine number of 407 next to the Ohara symbol. A collection of personal letters about Bruce Lee that were collected by Rainbow Publications thru three of their magazine: Black belt, Karate Illustrated and Fighting Stars. Some of the letters go back to 1967. One chapter is devoted to a letter from Bruce to a personal friend named Mito (Mitoshi Uyehara) dated August 12, 1972. The magazine was founded in 1961 by Mitoshi Uyehara who was the publisher of Black Belt magazine. Although the publication went mainstream in 1961, the first magazine was produced and sold for ten cents and was put together on the kitchen floor of Uyehara's home in 1958. They had a long and deep friendship. A splendid and very handsome vintage TRUE First Edition from 1980 with a few minor cosmetic flaws mentioned above. LOC SSM-05
