Intro to this book

This book is about an amazing child Matilda. She is very smart but her parents don’t know.

Summary Of Book

This book’s genre is funny. This book is set in England in 1988. The main characters for this book are Matilda, Ms Honey (Matilda’s teacher), the Trunchbull (the mean principal), Mrs Wormwood (Matilda’s Mum), Mr Wormwood (Matilda’s Dad). The plot of this book is at start Mr and Mrs Wormwood doesn’t know that Matilda is very smart. She goes to school and Ms Honey is her teacher. Everybody is very surprised that Matilda is so smart. They tell Mr and Mrs Wormwood and they said that Matilda doesn’t even know ABC. Regularly the Trunchbull will go into the classes and see what’s going on. You will have to behave really well in class when the Trunchbull comes in. Matilda went to Ms Honey’s house and ate a slice of bread with margarine. Then Mr and Mrs Wormwood and their son went on holiday so Ms Honey took care of Matilda.

Analysis of Book

This book is a third person book because it’s talking about Matilda and her family, teacher and friends. The techniques for this book is a moderately fast pace and he also used funny scenes where it makes you want to keep on reading and also think that this book is very interesting. The strengths for this book are: very interesting, funny, not too long. The weakness for this book is: some words are old fashioned; some parts might not be so intense/interesting.

Opinion of Book

I like how Roald Dahl wrote funny things in this book; it makes the book a lot more interesting. What I don’t like about this book is he uses old-fashioned language, which you may not understand. Sometimes you need to check the dictionary for it.

Conclusion

I will definitely recommend this book because it is a very interesting book and it’s also funny. I will recommend this book to children around 7-12 years old.
