Matilda is about a young girl named Matilda Wormwood and her parents are not only are not very nice, but they do not value literature or being smart. Matilda is very smart and ends up living with her teacher Mrs. Honey.

Matilda is a great book to read when teaching students about literary elements and how to visualize books into pictures. Matilda would be best in fourth or fifth grade and used with a literature circle and book discussions. Students could also compare and contrast Mrs. Honey to the Trunchbull. They could also draw pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood using the descriptions from Road Dahl's writing.
