I first read this book when I had just turned 8 and I think I had only read a few of Roald Dahl's books before this. Over 4 years later, I still remember details of the book and I have also watched the movie several times. I personally think the movie is not as good as the book. We were on holiday when I read it and we were limited of books (as I had already read them all) and I remember being rationed to 8 pages a day! Matilda was the book I really think set off my love for reading. It is a great book for youngsters to read along with adults, people who are just starting off to read, a person looking for a quick read or for people like myself, to bring back memories from the past. Overall, a book for anyone!
