So this is more of a book (re-read) review. Matilda has always been a favorite of mine, he’ll, Dahl is a favorite of mine. I don’t think there’s an author that I recommend to younger children then Roald Dahl. He’s witty and precocious, his writing is juvenile enough that children and adults can enjoy them. I remember my father reading out loud to my brother, sister, and I when we were younger and one of the authors he’d read the most, would be Dahl. But it was good to re-read Matilda, I forgot how entertaining Dahl’s writing was. I read this novel in less then 48 hours but my sides hurt from laughing. All the characters burrow their way into your heart and you care about them more then you imagine. My beginning rating was five stars. After rereading Matilda my rating still stands at five stars. It will forever be a favorite of mine, and I know I’ll be passing it down to my daughter(s) if I get lucky enough.
