it was amazing

This is a class children’s story about a girl who has self-centred parents and does not have much interest in their children. However, she is very intelligent and started reading at 2 and was exceptionally smart in school. This also developed into having a magical element where she could move things with her eyes. This is a great story to inspire children for creative story writing. I would start by reading this story and discuss some of the concepts and ask pupils to write what happens next – and if they know the story to write something different. Or it could be a follow up of creative writing to show how some authors write their stories. I love how it glamourizes reading and being knowledgeable which can be lost nowadays and almost suggests that reading can give you ‘powers’ which can direct pupils into following education and prioritising it. It also shows that you may not have the best of families but that does not mean you need to give up but that you yourself a brand new person that can do anything- I think it’s very inspirational!
