I enjoyed this book by Roald Dahl because first of all, the film Matilda directed by Danny DeVito closely follows the book from which it derived; and second, this book took me back to my childhood and also created a place where I could escape into Matilda's world. I could see her over-bearing parents and stood in awe of Matilda's courage and wit. I recommend this book if you like the film or enjoy an intriguing children's book--I look forward to reading more of Roald Dahl.
