Matilda

I, a decently aged teenager, had never read a Dahl book before this. As a book fanatic when I was younger, this seems increasingly startling. But, alas, I was a one track kid who read series instead of individual books. Here we are, though.
I am a devoted fan of the movie Matilda, and today I decided to read the book to see if it added up. And listen: it didn't. To be honest, it did not add up to the love I have for the movie. The movie has far more plot and character development than the book. But the movie is a 6/5. The movie can coexist with this book. And the writing in here and the fantastical ideas and pictures was enough to make me like this book. Will I think of it as a five star book when I fully process it? Who knows? But so it goes
