Thinking, Fast and Slow

** spoiler alert **
Very enjoyable so far, but it's a slow read because it's so meaty that you want to stop and chew on it every few pages. Look up "heuristics" before you read this book. The book is about biases and errors in judgement and intuition.
Notes from the book (updated as I progress):
When faced with a difficult questions, we often answer an easier one instead, usually without noticing the substitution.
Biases: Availability Bias, the Halo Effect...
System 1/System 2 thinking: Fast/Slow, intuitive/deliberate.
System 2 Slow thinking: pupils dilate. Agency, choice, concentration, effortful. Can make you effectively blind and/or deaf to other things. We decide what to do, but we have limited control over the effort of doing it. System 2 is frugal, lazy. Switching between System 2 tasks is difficult.
1: involuntary or automatic, can multitask
System 1 cannot be turned off, so the biases cannot be avoided, but can be mitigated by System 2 if trained when to mistrust System 1. (Muller-Lyer illusion, psychopathic charm)
Thoughts: Can I manipulate System 2 activation by dimming my computer screen, thus triggering my eyes to dilate? Is this phenomenon the reason why I often do mental and creative work better after dark?
