Thinking, Fast and Slow

I'd actually give this book two and a half stars, but Goodreads doesn't go halvsies. It felt like just an anthology of interesting socio-/psychological studies interspersed with way too many personal anecdotes on the part of the author. It seems he couldn't decide whether he was writing his memoirs or an entry-level textbook but didn't quite succeed in either. For me it was really lacking in any theme or narrative tying it together or leading to a conclusion or any sort of application. More just like listening to an old man (I have no idea how old Daniel Kahneman is, I just know how grandpas are) who knows he has a captive audience and therefore just keeps starting up story after story. "Oh, here was another incredible thing I learned..." "And did I ever tell you about the time I...?" Very rambling and disjointed. Still, many of the studies were indeed interesting. I just wish they had been made relevant in some way.
