** spoiler alert ** In spite of Matilda’s talents, and instead of overrating her ability, her parents considered her as a nuisance. Matilda is amiable and an intelligent child who enjoys reading. However, her parents always perpetually banned her from expanding her knowledge. On the other hand, Matilda’s teacher Miss Honey who was impressed by her intelligence, visited Matilda’s parents to give an explicit explanation of how much Matilda was worthy. Lamentably, Matilda’s parents turned a deaf ear to Miss Honey’s words. By reading this book I became assured with the concept that parents are the best teachers to children. If Matilda’s parents supported her to build bridges to a wider world, she would have had better skills. Throughout the book, I had to put up with the immense inconveniences of having to see Matilda’s talent being undervalued.
